40K Noise Marines?
I’m drawn to a Slaaneshi army, and I love the idea of sonic weponry. However, It seems a total rip-off to buy a squad on noise marines since you only get two marines armed with sonic weponry. That means that if you want a squad of ten marines fully armed with sonics, it’ going to cost £200 – what the hell!!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions to find a way around this obstical? I should note that I’m looking for a solution that leaves them legal for torniments. I know that Games Workshop can be a bitch when I comes to whats legal and not.
Sadly I don’t think GW care. There prices are hiking all the time because there business is shrinking. GW are also a company in it for money, so tend to make it expensive to field the army properly. They are not in it for their customers happiness like every other business, money first happy people later.
They make them from an expensive metal and so costs are higher still. I used to do 40k but got out when it was still priced right. Though I have mates still in it and the new flavour of armageddon with £400 for a plane is a little rich for most teenagers to afford in this day and age.
Look at the 40k role playing game, years in development, four books released then two days later closed the company because the game wouldn’t make them money, saying there was little money in supporting the product. Instead turned to novels and selling them.
I think you will be forced to suck up the costs and go for it, or talk to your opponent and see about replacing normal marines for them on the field, using the points of full noise marines. Or more likely start doing some conversions, get the noise gear sprues and convert normal marines. Which might the be the way forward.
