Is it better to remove paint and then undercoat or undercoat on top of painted warhammer figure?
I have a warhammer (40k) squad painted as ultramarines but now i want to go Blood Angels so is it better to remove the paint before re undercoating or just undercoat on top? If it is better to remove the paint first, how can i do it (wouldn’t have a clue =P )?
It would be best to remove the paint first. If it’s not an option, do a really light coat of primer so that you don’t ruin the detail. As far as the color, black is best because it covers everything. But it’s hard to paint red on black. So I would suggest white. But with white the color comes through more so you have to do multiple coats.
If the models are metal, you can leave them in acetone for a SMALL amount of time to remove the paint. But I wouldn’t suggest that if the models are plastic because it melts them. So if they’re plastic, use the first paragraph for my advice.
