warhammer 40k painting?
im looking to paint my imperial fists army and i am wondering if anyone knows if there is a citadel primer spray can for the paint color golden yellow (imperial fists main color). if not does anyone know of any spray paint that is safe for plastic models that is the same color or reasonably close?
By far the best base coat for Imperial Fists is the new Iyanden Darksun foundation paint. But this doesn’t, of course, come in a spray can.
Fear not! For GW is about to release its own spraygun (resembling a hand flamer!), compatible with cans or compressor and perfect for undercoating, basecoating and ink-washing your miniatures. Water down the Iyanden Darksun (about 3 parts water to 1 part paint, I’d reckon, although you might need to experiment to get it exactly right) and apply in broad sweeps.
The best thing about Iyanden Darksun is that it applies smoothly over a black undercoat and is a perfect basecoat for Golden Yellow.
Apply fine highlights with a 1:1 Golden Yellow/Skull White mix and Bob’s the Emperor.
