Fantasy books that will likely to become great classics like The Lord of the Rings?
I’ve been checking out fantasy books for many months now and I wanna find books that are more likely to become classics.
These are books that I think would:
The Wheel of Time
A Song of Ice and Fire
Wizard’s First Rule
Magician
His Dark Materials
Earthsea Cycle
Robin Hobb’s books
ERAGON AND HARRY POTTER AND TWILIGHT ARE THE ONES THAT RIP-OFF!!!!!!!!
Harry Potter is not a ripoff. Sure, if you look at the basic ideas there’s nothing really new, but she combined it all in a new way that worked very well. I can see this one sticking around. Twilight is junk and I haven’t read Eragon.
The rest (the ones I have read) don’t really have what it takes to become real classics and none are written nearly as well as LOR. The LOR is strong and focused. Wheel of Time, for example, starts of strong and then tapers off into an unfocused mess of characters and stories and the initial greatness wears off quickly. His Dark Materials – well, we’ll see, but I doubt it will have the same classic feel as the Narnia series. Most of its popularity stems from the movies anyway.
