What are the bits bolted into the cylinder head of my 1800 endura diesel engine above the glow plugs?
I am looking to replace the glow plugs on my 1800 endura diesel. I have seen exactly what they are and how to do it, I was curious what the individual items are that are bolted into cylinder head above the glow plugs? They look like spark plugs but, according to readings on here there are no spark plugs at all. Are they injectors? Also getting a couple of lumps overun as it were when turning off the engine!! Any help much appreciated.

Im not familiar with the vehicle your referring too but if the “bits” have metal lines running from them back to the injector pump then its the injectors your referring to. Diesels use compression for ignition so your correct that they do not have spark plugs. Watch yourself removing the glow plugs as often because they get so hot and then when the engine cools down so cold they can break off while your trying to remove them. I have had customers bring in diesels that I had to remove the head to get the broken off glow plugs out after they attempted to replace them their selves. Im not sure what you mean by “lumps overun” so I cant help you there.
