Can som1 explain how combat squads in warhammer 40k work?
If u have a 10 man squad and split them into two 5 man combat squads then are the considerd 1 troop choice or 2?
“Combat squads” is a special rule that conventional space marine and Dark Angel armies may take advantage of.
If you have a full 10-man squad, you may – before deployment but after mission selection – split them into two 5-man squads. You can distribute your sergeant, special and heavy weapons as you see fit. Each squad of 5 counts as a separate unit for that game. So in games using objectives, each combat squad counts as a scoring unit. In games using Kill Points, each squad counts as 1 KP. Generally speaking, people like to split their squads for objective-based missions and keep them together for KP-based missions.
As far as the force org chart goes, they still count as only one Troops selection.
