Warhammer 40k Starting army helpp!?
Im getting warhammer 40k and i dont know which army to get from
my 2 main choices are The orks and the tyranids.
i like tyranids cause of my friend who told me and convinced me why there sweet
but then again i want to get orks cause of warhammer battle march dawn of war etc. i want to go in there and bash dere heads open
So can help me decide on which army which would be better and if you can only say “there good in there own way” can you tell me there pros and cons?

So I worked for GW for 5 years and have been into the hobby for more than 10. I was a manager for GW until I moved a month ago so what I’m about to say is from a lot of experience. I LOVE Tyranids because they’re a fun army to play, however, they are a bit complicated for your first army and in all honesty, Orks are by far the most fun army in any GW game (Wahammer, Warhammer 40 and Lord of the Rings).
Personally, I would start with Orks. Here’s why: Theyre fun, easy to paint, easy to learn and heres the big one… IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY.
If you go to your local Games Workshop, independent retailer, or the GW website, they will all have the Assault on Black Reach starter set for Warhammer 40k. The box is $90 in the US and it has over $400 worth of stuff in it. It has a rulebook (smaller than the individual one and paperback but all the same rules), an Ork army AND a Space Marines army. They aren’t BIG armies but DEFINITELY enough to get started. It also has a book that says “Read This First” on the front that walks you through building a few of the models, painting them and how to play the game. It also has dice, rulers and the templates you’ll need.
Even if you never touch the SM army in there, it’s way worth it. That’s my suggestion.
