Another question on Crimson Fists from Warhammer 40K?
Which Space Marines Codex is it that has the Crimson Fists symbols and painting guide Also paints required (G-W only) I’ve seen Crimson Fists in 3rd edition for the Space Marine Codex and was wondering which edition contained the most about Crimson Fists and mainly the stuff I asked above. I do know their symbols is a red fist but I might have difficulties painting it onto their shoulder pads.
The newest (5th Edition) codex probably contains the most Crimson Fists background and details as has ever been published in a codex. However, there’s loads of background for free online if you look around, and most of it’s pretty accurate.

Painting the symbol freehand is no easy task and not a job that should be undertaken by a beginner. You can get a pre-moulded crimson fist shoulder pad from Games Workshop’s bits service (call Mail Order and ask for details or download the bits catalogue from their new website). Alternatively, you can also get fist-shaped transfers either in the boxed sets of plastic minis or check out eBay – spare transfers are always for sale at very low prices (10p or less for a sheet).
There was a painting guide for Crimson Fists in White Dwarf not long ago, although it didn’t dwell on the symbol. But I’ve done quite a few (for commissions and eBay sales) and I’ve always painted Midnight Blue over a Chaos Black undercoat before highlighting with Enchanted Blue (or Ultramarines Blue for a more muted finish).
