Wahammer models made of Balsa Wood?
I wa wondering whether it would be practical to scratch-build a 40K model like a titan or stormstorm/stormblade/hellhammer out of balsa wood?
Because these models would be very large, balsa would seem good because it’s light.
Is it strong enough though?
Obviously, the body/head/legs/arms for a titan and the hull/turret for a tank would be transported seperately and assembled at the “venue,” but is it worth considering blasa wood as an option?
Actual experience of large balsa models or scratch-building warhammer would be handy here…
I just read about a bloke who made a 15-inch reaver titan partially out of balsa wood (these rest was plasticard which isn’t a material I want to use – it doesn’t look all that good)
I bought two as Xmas presents and they ended up as kindling. Use something more robust.
